A Decker Fire public meeting is being held today beginning at 5:15 pm at the SteamPlant in Salida.
Immediate evacuations were ordered yesterday for homes in the path of the Decker Fire after it jumped containment lines.
There is a Decker Fire Public Meeting tonight beginning at 6 pm at the Howard Volunteer Fire Department.
[Updated] The Decker Fire has jumped containment lines and multiple new evacuation notices have been issued.
A pre-evacuation notice has been issued for Howard.
An evacuation center has been set up at the United Methodist Church in Salida, on the request of Fremont County.
The ground ignition operation in the northeast section of the fire starting yesterday and continued into the night.
An Air Quality Health Advisory for wildfire smoke has been issued until 4 pm Sunday (Oct.13) for Chaffee and Fremont Counties.
The Decker Fire is currently listed at 7,105 acres and 15 percent contained. There are currently 851 firefighting personnel working the fire.
The Decker Fire received only a trace of snow yesterday and didn’t have much of an impact.
The Type I Team said it was a productive day yesterday. The Decker Fire is now 6,667 acres and 14 percent contained.
