A break from the winds of the week is here, with some gusts expected, but milder conditions will move through as the weekend arrives. Cloudy skies in the high country will slowly break up as the day goes on, and mostly sunny skies should dominate the valleys.
Highs in Salida and Buena Vista today will reach 43 before dropping to 17 overnight.
In the high country, expect a high of 29 today before lows drop back to 7.
