An individual at SHS was identified as positive with COVID19 last night.
Initial review of the case shows no school connections beyond the high school. As such, SHS is on remote learning today, October 20, 2020. All other buildings will continue with in-person learning.
Public Health will conduct contact tracing throughout the day. If you do NOT receive a call from public health you do not need to take any action.
The school response team will be evaluating this case as well as the increasing numbers throughout the county to determine if a change in our programming is necessary. Look for more information by the end of the day through our app and emails to parent guardians.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
