Reverse 911 Call Went Out Informing Residents of Upcoming Census

Chaffee County residents received a reverse 911 call informing them of the upcoming Census and what to look out for.

The call said, “Census Bureau field staff will work in neighborhoods across the U.S. to conduct surveys using a laptop computer.”

Field staff will be knocking on doors in order to verify addresses and gather information on additional living quarters. Census employees will be knocking on doors through March 30th, conducting survey operations.  Census employees have electronic devices with the Census logo, a black Census canvas I.D., and Census identification.

Remember, the Census will never ask for Social Security Numbers, money or for bank account information. The official website–Census2020.gov–also lists other scams and frauds to watch out for.
