Poncha Springs Trustees held a public hearing on a land use application for a proposed Love’s gas station and convenience store to be located on 5 acres owned by Harder Diesslin Development Group.

The project is located at the northwest corner of County Road 120 and Halley’s Avenue, just south of the Monarch Crossing neighborhood.

Over 100 Poncha Springs residents crammed into Town Hall, most to voice their opposition to the proposed truck stop, citing concerns like traffic volume, security, and noise.

In the end, Poncha Springs Trustees voted to deny the application.
