Meet Cashew! She’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pet of the Week.
Cashew is a female Rhodesian Ridgeback/Retriever mix. She is about 3 years old and weighs 94 lbs but is on a diet so is losing weight every week! Cashew came to AVHS as a stray, all of staff were positive her owner would come and get her because she is the sweetest dog, but no one came forward.
Cashew knows a ton of commands is a very well behaved girl. She walks well on leash knows all her basic obedience and some cool tricks too! Come in and meet this gem today!!
All adoptable animals receive the following services prior to adoption:
- Spay or Neuter
- Age-appropriate boosters
- De-wormer
- Vaccines
- Microchip

Bow Wow Film Festival
The third annual Bow Wow Film Festival is February 29th at the Salida SteamPlant. Come out and enjoy a night filled with animal-themed shorts! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased now at the Salida SteamPlant Box Office, Salida Chamber of Commerce, Salida Free the Monkey or Ark-Valley Humane Society. Proceeds benefit AVHS.
