The Salida Fire Department will be conducting live-fire training exercises behind the new fire station at 507 Scott Street through next Wednesday.
Residents in the area may notice smoke during the early morning hours. City officials say the smoke is part of a planned and controlled training exercise, and there is no cause for alarm.
According to the department, these live-fire exercises are a critical part of firefighter training. They allow crews to practice working with real-world fire behavior, improve safety techniques, and maintain the skills necessary to respond effectively to emergencies in the community.
The Salida Fire Department thanks residents for their understanding and support while crews carry out this important training.
