The Salida School District R-32-J Board of Education will have four open seats on the ballot this November, including one at-large seat and seats in Districts 3, 4, and 5.

According to School Board Secretary Kim LeTourneau, Jodi Breckenridge Petit is the only current member who is term-limited. Petit, who was re-elected in both 2021 and 2023, will complete her term in 2027.

All current board members holding the seats up for election have expressed their intent to seek re-election this fall. However, a position switch is underway:

  • Joe Smith will run for the at-large seat rather than for re-election in District 4.
  • Ben Hill will run in District 4, moving from his current at-large position.

The election will take place as part of the November 2025 coordinated election. Details about candidate filing deadlines, district boundaries, and voting information will be made available through the Chaffee County Clerk’s Office.
