As holiday celebrations ramp up, Colorado law enforcement is urging drivers to plan ahead and make a sober ride part of their Thanksgiving plans.
The Colorado State Patrol, along with local police agencies statewide, has kicked off its Heat Is On Thanksgiving DUI enforcement period. Throughout the holiday weekend, motorists can expect increased saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from the road.
Officials remind everyone that the safest, and smartest way to avoid a DUI is to arrange a sober ride home before festivities begin.
