The Colorado State Patrol is partnering with local law enforcement agencies across the state for the “Heat Is On” New Year’s DUI enforcement period.

Officials say motorists should expect increased enforcement through the weekend, including saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints, all aimed at keeping impaired drivers off Colorado roadways.

Law enforcement is reminding drivers to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, or use alternative transportation to help prevent impaired driving crashes.
