Chaffee County will join communities across the country in the nationally coordinated Point-in-Time Homeless Count beginning tomorrow.
The effort will be carried out by a coalition of local organizations and volunteers, coordinated by the Chaffee Housing Authority and Chaffee Hospitality. The annual count is designed to provide a snapshot of homelessness in the community and to improve understanding of the needs, challenges, and circumstances faced by individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Data collected during the Point-in-Time Count helps inform local planning efforts and supports applications for state and federal resources aimed at addressing housing instability.
The count relies heavily on community volunteers. Those interested in participating are encouraged to email for more information on how to help.
