Chaffee County Public Health has introduced two new programs aimed at improving access to contraception and helping individuals make informed decisions about if and when to become parents.
The programs are designed to reduce barriers to reproductive health services while expanding options for residents seeking confidential and affordable care.
One of the new initiatives, Birth Control for You, is a statewide program that helps eligible Coloradans under the age of 24 access free and confidential sexual health services, including contraception.
The second program, Choose When, provides financial support for long-acting reversible contraception, such as IUDs and implants, for individuals who may face barriers to accessing these services.
In addition to these new offerings, Chaffee County Public Health continues to provide free STI testing through weekly walk-in clinics. Testing is available Mondays in Salida and Tuesdays in Buena Vista.
Health officials say the programs are intended to expand access to care and support residents in making informed reproductive health choices.
