Hunters across the state can now apply for 2026 big-game hunting licenses through Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), with the application period open through April 7.

CPW is encouraging hunters planning to apply this year to review the 2026 Colorado Big Game brochure, which outlines updates to licenses, hunting seasons, and fees for the upcoming season.

Officials also recommend submitting applications well before the deadline to avoid potential technical issues or last-minute delays that could affect the application process.

The big-game draw includes licenses for species such as elk, deer, pronghorn, moose, and bear. Hunters must submit their applications through the CPW licensing system before the April 7 deadline to be considered in the draw.
