The City of Salida, in partnership with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), has resumed work on the Oak Street Improvement Project beginning today, with construction focused between Park Avenue and Walnut Street.
🚧 The ongoing improvements are aimed at providing a safe and accessible transportation route for all users, whether on foot, bicycle, or in a vehicle.
📆 Starting today, crews will begin:
- Underground infrastructure work
- Paving operations
- New roadway striping
- Bike lane installation
The project is expected to be completed later this summer, with Oak Street closed to through traffic during active construction. Local access will be maintained, with temporary routes coordinated with nearby residents and businesses. Drivers should expect one-lane traffic with flaggers in place during the project period.
