The Aspen Acres Fire is 36% contained and has grown to 100,000 acres.
Four people have filed a civil lawsuit against the San Isabel Electric Association, claiming the company is allegedly responsible for the Aspen Acres Fire and the damage it caused. All four people who filed the lawsuit live in either Pueblo or Custer counties.
The lawsuit alleges on the morning the Aspen Acres Fire started, a witness saw a large tree leaning on a powerline in the area. It goes on to say another witness videotaped a fire burning near a powerline in the Aspen Acres subdivision. The suit claims San Isabel Electric is responsible for maintaining the lines and failed.
The Willow Fire in Lake County west of Leadville has grown to just over 6,800 acres with 37% containment.
A community meeting will be held tonight at Lake County High School in Leadville. Willow Fire officials will provide an incident update, followed by a chance to ask questions. The meeting will also be live streamed on the Willow Fire Facebook page.
The Gold Mountain Fire burning in Montrose, Ouray and Gunnison counties is just over 37,000 acres with 11% containment.
There are 5 other large wildfires burning in the state: the Fishhook, Green Ridge and PL Gulch fires in northern Colorado and the Elk and Ferris fires in the southwest part of the state.
Custer County has moved to Stage 3 Fire Restrictions. This is the highest level of fire restrictions.
All outdoor fires prohibited.
Stage 2 Fire Restrictions remain in effect for all public and private lands in Chaffee, Park, Lake, Saguache and Fremont Counties.
