A Westcliffe man convicted of killing three of his neighbors in a dispute over property has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Hanme Clark received three life sentences after being found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 63-year-old Rob Geers, 71-year-old Beth Wade, and 58-year-old James Daulton. The court ordered that the life sentences be served consecutively.
Under Colorado law, a conviction for first-degree murder carries an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
In addition to the life terms, Clark was sentenced to 48 years for attempted first-degree murder and an additional three years for felony menacing.
During the incident, Patty Daulton was also injured. She was airlifted from the scene and received medical treatment for her injuries.
The sentencing brings closure to a case that has deeply impacted the Westcliffe community, which has grappled with the aftermath of the deadly neighborhood dispute.
