The Salida Distillery has been honored as the 2025 “Sustainable Salida Business of the Year” by the Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA).
Founded and operated by Gabe and Maggie Barnard, the family-owned distillery is located at 110 E 15th Street in Salida, Colorado. They produce small-batch spirits, including an aged bourbon, botanical gin and filtered vodka, that embody the local high-mountain character while prioritizing environmentally responsible operations. The recognition will be celebrated in a special edition of GARNA’s “Green Drinks” event on November 10 at 6 p.m. at the distillery’s downtown Salida location. Attendees will include local business owners who will have the opportunity to learn more about GARNA’s “Green Biz” program and how to adopt more sustainable practices in their own operations. By awarding Salida Distillery, the Chamber and GARNA highlight how a business rooted in craft, community and environmental stewardship can set a standard for others in the Arkansas River Valley and beyond.
