Next Thursday is Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel periods of the year and unfortunately, that means more impaired drivers on Colorado roads.
To keep safe during holiday travel, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement are teaming up for a DUI enforcement period starting today and continuing through Monday, December 2nd.
Last year, law enforcement arrested 593 impaired drivers during the 10-day Thanksgiving enforcement period.
CDOT urges Colorado residents and visiting drivers to plan ahead and arrange a sober ride home.
