Investigators Canvas Community in Connection with Morphew Disappearance

In the month since Suzanne Morphew disappeared, the sheriff’s office has conducted 10 large-scale searches and followed hundreds of tips in an effort to find the missing 49-year-old.

So far, nothing has led to an answer on her whereabouts.

Yesterday, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s office conducted a community canvass in the county where more than two dozen officers questioned residents and others who knew Morphew in hopes of generating new information in the case.  The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI are assisting the sheriff’s office.

Morphew was reported missing by a neighbor on May 10th.  Authorities have said she left for a bike ride and never returned.  Since then, the sheriff’s office has lead searches that have included tracking dogs, water rescue teams and tactical mountain rescuers.

Just days after her disappearance, they searched an area near Maysville along U.S. Highway 50 after finding what was believed to be a personal item.  They’ve also conducted an extensive search at Morphew’s home and on residential property on the east side of Salida.

No suspects have been identified.

Morphew’s family is offering a $210,000 reward for information that leads to her safe return.

Anyone with information on Morphew’s whereabouts should call 719-312-7530.
