The Colorado State Forest Service is now accepting applications for the Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation grant program. An informational webinar is scheduled for tomorrow at 9am. Community groups, fire protection districts, and non-profit organizations are just some of the groups eligible to apply for grants from the $7 million funding pool.
The grant program helps fund projects that strategically reduce wildfire risk to property, infrastructure and water supplies and that promote forest health. The projects can take place on private, state, county or municipal forestlands. Grant recipients are required to match 25 to 50% of the total project cost.
