Starting 08-27-25 at 6:00AM unincorporated Chaffee County will no longer be under stage 1 fire restrictions. The recent rains have been very beneficial to our community resulting in lowering the fire danger dramatically. Unfortunately, the conditions can change again in a few weeks which may result in us going back into restrictions. We have had some fairly significant lightning in our community that did not result in any new ignitions which is telling of the change. Please continue to use extreme caution when burning outdoors to keep our beautiful county safe.
