A potentially dangerous situation on a snowy Colorado highway ended with a sigh of relief yesterday in South Fork. A school bus carrying more than a dozen children slid off the road and rolled, but—remarkably—no one was hurt.

The bus had been traveling along a snow-packed stretch of Highway 160 when the driver attempted to slow down. According to the Colorado State Patrol, that’s when the bus began to slide, eventually veering off the pavement and onto the dirt shoulder before rolling over.

Inside were 13 students, all of whom were checked by responders and released without injuries. The driver also walked away unharmed.

Authorities say winter driving conditions played a major role in the crash, and they’re urging drivers to use caution as snow and ice continue to impact the region. For families and school officials, though, the main takeaway is simple: everyone made it home safe.
