Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations remain high in the San Luis Valley. San Luis Valley Public Health is reporting a 9% positivity rate in Covid-19 infections.   

There are currently 287 active cases in the Valley, including 127 in Alamosa County and 18 in Saguache County.   

The number of positive Covid-19 cases and deaths related to the virus in Fremont County are higher today than at any time since the pandemic hit.  There have been 367 positive cases reported in the last 7 days and 644 in the last 14 days. There were 19 Covid-related deaths in Fremont county in the month of October.   

There are open slots still available for today’s booster clinic at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. This is the last mass vaccination clinic for adults this year. Booster shots for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are free.
