Salida’s annual Parade of Lights is set to brighten downtown this Friday, rolling down F Street at 6 p.m.

This year’s theme, “Who Let the Elves Out,” will guide the holiday floats and festivities. Grand marshal Karin Naccarato will lead the parade, which also includes the highly anticipated lighting of Christmas Mountain, a fireworks display, and a visit from Santa. In addition, Holiday Park, featuring more than 100 decorated Christmas trees in Riverside Park, will be illuminated for the season.

Before the parade, Columbine Manor will host a nacho bar and hot chocolate at the Salida Community Center for those looking to warm up and enjoy a pre-parade treat.

Looking ahead, Buena Vista’s Christmas Opening will take place next weekend.
