Salida Schools is pleased to extend a warm Spartan welcome to Jeremy Grier, who will soon begin serving as the district’s Interim Activities Director. With a diverse background in education, athletics, military service, and student support, Grier brings broad experience and a passion for youth development to the Salida community.
A Strong Foundation in Athletics and Academics
A 1987 graduate of B-G-M High School in Iowa, Grier earned varsity letters in cross country, basketball, track and field, and baseball. His athletic journey continued into college, where he competed in both cross country and track.
Grier holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as three Master of Science degrees—in Administration, Social Work, and Educational Counseling. His academic accomplishments reflect a lifelong commitment to learning and mentorship.
Service, Family, and Career
After dedicating 20 years to the U.S. Army, Grier retired from military service and redirected his career toward education. He is the proud father of two adult sons, Nathan and Kyle, and has spent recent years working closely with students as a high school counselor and coach.
A Passion for Student Growth
Grier describes his professional focus as helping young people excel in every area of their lives.
“My passion is helping young men and women become the absolute best that they can be, whether that is on the playing field, in the classroom, or in life,” he shared. “Living and working in Colorado has been a dream come true and allows me to pursue my other passions of hiking and exploring nature. I am very excited to be joining a community and school district that align with my values and passions.”
