Salida School District Moves to Remote Learning Starting November 16th

Salida High School

In a message to students and parents, Salida Superintendent David Blackburn announced that the Salida School District will transition to remote learning starting Tuesday due to staff absences.

Starting Tuesday, Nov. 16th, through the end of Thanksgiving Break, all Salida Schools will move to remote learning. Tuesday will be a transition day with limited instruction as teachers and families make the adjustment.

Blackburn instructed parents and students to watch for additional information from principals and expect initial student instructions from staff by 9 am Tuesday morning.

According to Blackburn, “We have been holding 25% staff absenteeism at various schools for the last couple of weeks.  Tomorrow ECC expects absenteeism to exceed 30%, which will trigger 25% or greater staff absences across the district.”

They hope to return to in-person learning after Thanksgiving break.
