Governor Jared Polis was in Washington Monday, Nov. 15th, for the signing of the new infrastructure bill at the White House. 

A press release from the Governor’s Office says, “The new law is a historic investment in Colorado and the nation’s infrastructure. This bipartisan transportation package will create a dynamic, 21st Century transportation system that will drive Colorado’s economic comeback, establish a sustainable funding source to improve Colorado roads, invest in vehicle charging stations, and expand multi-modal and transit options to reduce congestion and improve air quality.”

Of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, the Colorado Department of Transportation will receive $3.7 billion for improving highways and $225 million for bridge replacement. 

Our area will some of the infrastructure money:

• I-25 will see many improvements from Pueblo to Colorado Springs.
• Highway 24 will see improvements from Trout Creek Pass to Divide.
• Highway 285 will see bridge widening and replacement.
