The Salida School District has announced that the Salida High School Track and Field will be closed from June 15 through June 30 for a scheduled resurfacing project.

During the closure, both the track and turf field will be unavailable for athletic practices and all community use. District officials say athletic practices normally held on the turf field will be relocated to Kesner Field.

The resurfacing work is part of a routine maintenance project designed to preserve the quality and safety of the facility for students, staff, athletes, and community members.

The district anticipates reopening the track and field on July 1. Any updates or changes to the construction schedule will be posted on the Salida High School, Salida Middle School, and district websites and calendars.

School officials say they look forward to completing the improvements and reopening the facility with refreshed track surfaces for the community to enjoy.
