Salida Bikefest continues its celebration of everything bikes today with a History Tour Bike Ride beginning at 4 pm.
Bring your cruiser bike for a mile ride and learn about the history of downtown Salida. The Soulride starts at 6 pm at Soulcraft Brewing on Highway 50 with live music and libations.
Tomorrow, the Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race starts at 9 am on the F Street Bridge. This classic 26 mile course climbs up Bear Creek Road, across the Little Rainbow trail and returns to County Road 108.
Bike decorating begins at 9:30 am Saturday at Riverside Park.
Sunday is the popular Monarch Crest Crank benefiting The Alliance. The after party for the Crest Crank begins at 12 noon at Riverside Park.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
