Salida Airport Launches Flight School

The Salida Airport is taking flight education to new heights with the launch of a flight school and the formation of a new chapter of the Experimental Aviation Association.

These exciting events are set to meet a long need for flight education in Salida.

At the Salida flight school, students will have access to a Cessna 172 training airplane and a certified flight instructor. Ground school training will also be available. The courses will take students from basic instruction all the way to obtaining a private pilot license or advanced ratings. Aiming to provide the best education possible, the flight school will utilize modern teaching techniques and a sophisticated flight simulator.

Salida is proud to also be creating a new chapter of the Experimental Aviation Association, one of the most respected aviation associations in the United States. With the new chapter, enthusiasts and professionals alike will have a local outlet to share their passions for aviation. The first meeting of the chapter will be held at the Salida Airport on Tuesday, May 16th at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend this informative and exciting event.

The Salida Airport is planning a Young Eagles Day for the near future to raise awareness and inspire the next generation of aviators. Young Eagles Day is an event specifically designed for children aged 8 to 17 with the aim of providing them with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the thrill of flying. This event will be a highlight of the year for anyone interested in aviation and learning to fly.

The Salida Colorado Airport is pleased to announce its newest offerings for aviation enthusiasts and aspiring pilots. The flight school and Experimental Aviation Association chapter are sure to be successful endeavors that set the standard for flight education and networking opportunities in the Salida area.
