[Bob was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to so many during his 77 years. He will be greatly missed by so many of us. He was a Colorado native, born in Denver and raised in Wheat Ridge by his parents Louis and Kathryn Goos. Bob attended Wheat Ridge High School and then served in the Air Force from 1969-1973 as an Avionics Instrument Systems Specialist, and spent time in both Vietnam and at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ.

Bob is survived by his sister Karen Blount, his daughter Carolee Mortensen, and his son Robert “Rob” Goos, as well as four grandchildren (Christina Rodriguez, Vanessa Goos, Valerie Bopp and Tanner Goos) and three great granddaughters (McKenna Rodriguez, Ainsley Rodriguez and Vivian Bopp). His parents and two older brothers, Donald Goos and Melvin Goos, predeceased him.

Those who knew Bob well, knew that he had a lifelong passion for fixing things, especially all things electronic. His passion and skills led to him eventually owning his own business: Countryside TV and VCR. In his spare time, he was in multiple bowling leagues with his sister Karen and her husband Ernie, and he devoted much of his time and efforts to contribute to VFW Post 9565 in Broomfield during the 1990s.

Bob enjoyed being behind the camera, taking photos at family gatherings, recording his first family videos on 8mm film and then on a handheld camcorder. He was pretty tech savvy and converted all of his movies to DVD so that the memories could be shared with future generations.

After visiting friends in Howard, Colorado Bob fell in love with the area and moved there in 1999 for the rest of his life. He continued repairing electronics in addition to woodworking and building things in his workshop (which he also built). His father was also a skilled woodworker and craftsman, and passed down much of his knowledge to Bob. He later worked part-time for the Freemont County Census.

Although Bob lived alone for many of these past years, his loyal African Grey Parrot Goober kept him company. Goober repeats many of Bob’s phrases and their laughs sound nearly identical. Additionally, Bob had several wonderful neighbors who regularly visited with him and became his local family.

We love and miss you, Bob.
