Travelers can expect delays and road constructions around the valley today.

A water main break has closed 1^st Street/Highway 291 in downtown Salida between G Street to I Street.  This section of highway will be closed starting today and will remain closed through Thursday. 

Local traffic can take Sackett Avenue and 2^nd Street as alternate routes. 

Through traffic should use the Highway 285/50 route through Poncha Springs while Highway 291 is closed. 

However, motorists will encounter delays on U.S. 50/285 in Poncha Springs this week. 

Utility work will be performed just north of the 50/285 and West Poncha Avenue intersection.  You can expect periodic stops and interruptions of the operation of the traffic light signal.  A 10 foot width limit will be in place. 

Motorists are urged to slow down and follow the direction of flagging personnel.
