Chaffee County Republicans are hosting a countywide Meet-the-Candidates event today, August 24, welcoming Colorado gubernatorial candidate Victor Marx and a full slate of statewide and local candidates to the valley. The event will begin at the American Legion Post 55 in Buena Vista from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
The event continues with a session at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds Event Center in Poncha Springs from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with candidates on hand throughout the day. Food trucks will be on site at both stops, and attendees are encouraged to bring their questions for the candidates.
“This is a chance for every Chaffee County voter to ask direct questions of the people running for office, from the governor’s race down to our own county commission,” said Tom McCracken, Chair of the Chaffee County Republican Central Committee.
The event is free and open to every resident, regardless of party affiliation.
