The Cotopaxi girls basketball team didn’t wait long to establish their dominance over Sierra Grande on Tuesday night, running out to a double digit lead after the first quarter on their way to a 63-29 win to open the district tournament.
In the boys game, a slow start saw the Pirates trailing after one, but the inside presence of Chance Gulliford would settle the team down behind his 25 points and Ty Coleman and Peter Belt would steady the ship more on the way to their 60-28 victory.
