Salida Colorado – Places to Age will host two community meetings in October, one in Buena Vista and one in Salida, to share building layouts and plans for a planned senior living facility on west CR 120 in Salida. The facility will be located on a spacious campus with mountain views and will provide Assisted Living, Independent Living and Memory Care services.
The first community meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 1st, 5 -7p.m. at the Salida Scout Hut. A second meeting will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 3 -5p.m. at the Buena Vista Community Center at 715 W. Main Street. Both meetings are open to the public, no reservations are required.
Places to Age is a local nonprofit, working to bring Assisted Living and Memory Care to Chaffee County. The need is urgent: more than 5,882 residents are 65 or older, representing 30% of the current county’s population and those numbers are growing precipitously.
“This project means your parents or loved ones will have local options for care. No one will have to leave the county to receive these types of important services,” said Places to Age Board member, Marilyn Bouldin.
The Places to Age Board of Directors extends its gratitude to the community for continued support: Marilyn Bouldin, Cheryl Brown-Kovacic, Andi Bruno, Jeff Eaton, Amy Fell, Katy Grether, Judy Hoch, Wendell Pryor, and Dr. Lydia Segal.
