The Salida and the Chaffee County Community Foundation have launched the SteamPlant Fee Assistance Program, a new initiative aimed at helping local arts and cultural organizations access the SteamPlant Event Center for performances, exhibits, and community events.
The program will provide financial assistance covering up to 30 percent of SteamPlant facility rental fees, helping reduce costs for organizations hosting public arts and cultural programming.
To help launch the initiative, the City of Salida has committed $5,000 in matching funds, matching the first $5,000 donated by community members to the Salida Arts and Culture Fund.
Officials say the partnership is designed to increase access to one of the community’s premier event venues while supporting the growth and sustainability of local arts organizations.
The Community Foundation plans to open applications for the program on July 6, allowing eligible organizations to begin applying for assistance with future events and programming.
