New Nurse Practitioner Joins HRRMC’s Pain Management Clinic

Board-certified nurse practitioner John “Jac” Cottrell, AGACNP-BC, has joined the medical staff at HRRMC and will be practicing in the Pain Management clinic.

Mr. Cottrell will split his time seeing patients across three HRRMC locations to maximize pain management care across our rural service area. He will see patients in Salida, on the third floor of the Outpatient Pavilion; in Buena Vista, at the Buena Vista Health Center; and in Saguache, at the Saguache Health Center.

“We are seeing an increased need to address chronic and acute pain issues not only in Chaffee County, but in our surrounding areas as well,” explained HRRMC CEO Bob Morasko. “We have a diverse community full of active outdoor recreationalists, farming and ranching, seasonal workers and those with past injuries who can all benefit from more specialized pain services, and we are thrilled Mr. Cottrell has joined the pain team for to offer his services in this vein.”

Mr. Cottrell received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Nursing, and received his master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado – Anschutz. Mr. Cottrell has worked in a variety of settings, including critical care, emergency medicine and cardiac surgical ICU. He worked most recently at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo., as a nurse practitioner in internal and hospital medicine.
