The City of Salida has officially launched a multi-year infrastructure project aimed at upsizing the sewer main connecting Salida to Poncha Springs.
Initial construction is underway near County Road 111, across from Walmart, and will continue west along U.S. Highway 50. Traffic in the area has been reduced to one lane in each direction as crews begin early phases of the project.
City officials say access to homes and businesses along Highway 50 will remain open throughout construction. However, drivers should plan for lane shifts, temporary traffic pattern changes, and minor delays while traveling through active work zones.
The project is expected to continue over several years as part of long-term infrastructure improvements for the region.
