On Saturday afternoon, crews with the Salida Fire Department responded to a reported recreational vehicle fire at the Salida RV Park located off County Road 102.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the RV fully engulfed in flames. Crews quickly launched an aggressive fire attack, working to contain and extinguish the blaze. The fire was ultimately brought under control.
Authorities confirmed that one occupant was able to escape the burning vehicle, while another individual did not survive. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Officials say the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
