Monarch Pass on Highway 50 Closed Due to Adverse Weather [Update]

[UPDATE] As of 5:30 pm on January 15th, the Colorado Department of Transportation reports that Monarch Pass on Highway 50 is open in both directions.

[Original post] The Colorado Department of Transportation has closed Monarch Pass on Highway 50 due to adverse weather conditions.

Monarch Pass, Highway 50, between Gunnison and Salida, has been closed due to weather conditions, poor visibility, and safety concerns. Eastbound travelers will encounter a closure near Sargents at Mile Point 190, while westbound travelers will encounter a closure at Maysville near Mile Point 210.
