The opening rounds at the Pepsi Center saw the Buena Vista Demons advance four to the quarterfinals tomorrow morning, while six other Demons and both Salida Spartans will be looking to work their way through the consolation bracket.

Chris Hutchings started the day off for the Demons at 106 with a pin in the second period over Andrew Hannigan of Platte Canyon. The Demons would have to wait until Hayden Camp earned a 8-7 decision over Santino Mendoza of Rocky Ford.

Chris DeLuca would hold on for an 11-10 win at 152, defeating Tanner Howells of Crowley County, and would be followed on the same mat by Micah Hertrich who dominated his match with a 9-1 win over Greg Coy of Highland.

Losses would come to Jackson Helmke, Isaac Hutchings, David Arellano, Kaden McFee, Seth Moss and Jim Gabriel.

For the Salida Spartans, both Collin King and Drew Johnson also find themselves in the consolation bracket, after falling by pin and by points respectively.
