A man wearing body armor was arrested Saturday after allegedly pointing a gun at attendees of a Flag Day Rally in Westcliffe, according to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a report that a man in a red Jeep was pointing a pistol at individuals during the rally. Law enforcement quickly located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop approximately four miles south of Westcliffe.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Brett David Tuthill, was taken into custody without incident. He now faces charges of:

  • Menacing
  • Harassment
  • Disorderly conduct

No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
