A small wild fire was put out by members of Chaffee County Fire Protection and U.S. Forest Service Crews.
The fire started near Chalk Creek Canyon and was believed to be caused by a lightning strike. The first only burned an area of about 30 by 50 feet, although crews initially had trouble accessing it. The call came in just before 2:30 and was announced as contained by 4:45 pm.
Firefighters will be back on scene today to check the location.
