Lawmakers Plan to Delay 2021 Legislative Session Over COVID-19 Concerns

Colorado lawmakers plan to delay the 2021 legislative session for at least a month because of coronavirus concerns.

The legislature will reconvene January 13th as originally scheduled to swear in new members and meet technical and constitutional requirements, but then it will go into recess—tentatively until February 16th.

Ceremonial activities also will be delayed. The governor’s office said the annual State of the State address, which is usually given in January will be postponed and won’t happen until at least February after the session resumes.
