James Rodney Hartley, age 55 of Salida, passed away on March 28, 2024 at his home in Salida.
Mr. Hartley was born March 16, 1969 in Mississippi to James Daniel Hartley and Byrdie Johnson. Mr. Hartley moved to Salida in 2011 from Mississippi where he was a Cosmetologist/Hairdresser for many years. Mr. Hartley loved gardening and working in the floral department at Safeway in Salida. He enjoyed doing crafts. He loved being a people person and had a larger than life personality.
Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother Byrdie Johnson of Salida, CO, sisters Rachel (Wendell) Derritt II of Klamath Falls, OR, Tarron Johnson of Salida, CO and Step-sister Kathy Johnson of Pittman, MS. Nephews Ethan Brown, Charles Joseph Wayne Brown, Wendell Derritt III, step-nephews Decker Pittman and Benton Pittman. Nieces Cassondra Johnson, Victoria Derritt and Morgan Riley.
A Memorial Service is planned for a later date. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the family of James Rodney Hartley through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
