Snow Extends Monarch’s Season Again

After receiving nearly six feet of snow in the last month, Monarch Mountain has once again decided to extend their season. Closing day will now be April 21, 2024.

“Mother Nature continues to deliver up here and we want to keep the chairs turning, so don’t put your skis away yet.” said Monarch Marketing Manager, Allie Stevens.

The independent ski area tops out at 11,952ft and relies completely on all-natural snowfall.

“We’re excited to be able to offer another extra week for our passholders. Plus, if your local mountain is closed, you can come see what skiing on the Continental Divide is all about!” added Stevens.

For the last week of the season (4/15/24 – 4/21/24), Monarch will be offering discounted full and half-day lift tickets.

Full Day: Adult – $64, Teen – $54, Junior – $44, Senior – $54.

Half Day (starts at 12:30pm): Adult – $39, Teen – $29, Junior – $19, Senior – $29.

Monarch’s Wings Pass is also still on sale. The product allows new pass holders to ski the rest of the 23/24 season and all the 24/25 ski season. Partner Resorts valid for 24/25 season only.

Monarch’s annual Gunbarrel Challenge will be moved to Sunday, April 21.  Participants can put their skills to the test by boot packing up the famed Gunbarrel Run and skiing down in a race to the finish line. The winner gets the ultimate bragging rights and the Golden Boot award.

During the last week, Monarch will be operating the Sidewinder Saloon, Flyby Burrito, and Java Stop. Ski and Ride School options will be limited. Elations Sports will be offering 20% off certain inventory (Discounts cannot be combined). Lifts operating will include Caterpillar, Breezeway, Garfield and Panorama.
