Today is Election Day, and voters across the county are heading to the polls to decide a range of local races and ballot measures.

In Buena Vista, voters will determine the outcome of two school board races, two school funding measures, and a library district property tax question.

In Salida, residents will choose a new mayor, elect three city council members, decide one school board race, and vote on the proposal to close F Street during the summer months.

Countywide, voters will also weigh in on a measure to raise the lodging tax from 4% to 5.9%.

Vote Centers are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Salida Vote Center: The Legion Hut
  • Buena Vista Vote Center: Buena Vista Community Center

Ballots must be returned in person by 7 p.m. Drop boxes are available at Buena Vista Town Hall and in front of the Chaffee County Courthouse.
