The Costilla County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following the discovery of human remains earlier this week.
According to authorities, a hiker found the remains on Tuesday in the Sangre de Cristo Ranches area. Agents with the CBI later confirmed that the skeletal remains are human.
At this time, the remains have not been identified, and officials have not released additional details.
The investigation remains ongoing.
