Highway 115 has officially reopened following a temporary closure that began on the 18th due to the 24 Fire burning on Fort Carson land in Fremont County.

The wildfire has grown to approximately 7,400 acres and is now 60% contained, with crews continuing to make steady progress in controlling the blaze. Despite the reopening of the highway, smoke is still expected to be visible throughout the area.

Officials are urging drivers not to stop along the highway to take photos or observe firefighting activity, as doing so could disrupt traffic and create safety hazards. Colorado State Patrol will remain on-site to help maintain a safe and steady flow of traffic.

Fire crews will continue to operate in the area, closely monitoring conditions and working toward full containment.
