GUNNISON COUNTY — Fire crews have fully contained the Illinois Creek Fire, which was burning on private property in Gunnison County. Containment was achieved yesterday afternoon.
The fire was first reported on Monday near Illinois Creek, off County Road 742, just north of the Taylor Park Reservoir. It burned approximately five acres before firefighters were able to gain control.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
